Bottle - Will I Am
Date Added: 19 November 2016

From the Artist: "In 2007 I was working on a ship in the bottle, when I ran into a construction problem that at the time prevented me from finishing it. I wanted to find a use for a ship's hull that I couldn't complete into a fully rigged ship. I came up with the following idea. (Note: The ship in question was the Marble Head, I figured out the problem and recently completed the ship in the bottle in 2010.) The boy in the bathtub disguised as a pirate is my son, William. He is wearing a pirate hat, sporting a eye patch and a sword. There are colored bath tub letters attached to the shower's tile wall. His name William in also spelled out in colored letters. His friend recently read the name as Will I am. My father is also named William, but I never saw William as Will I am., but I digress. The stopper with locking mechanism is a model of a rubber duck. There is a yellow duck on the side of the tub, bottles of shampoo as well. The tub sits on a tile floor, mounted on wooden beams. The makers information is on them. Steve Moseley St. Louis 2010. For some reason there is a Coral snake slithering beneath the floor."
