Lloyd Pierce was born and raised in India. ?After graduating from Delhi University with a degree in Commercial Art he worked in the major cities in India as a graphic artist. ?In 1990 he immigrated to Canada and has worked in Toronto in the graphic arts industry since.
In 2003 while vacationing in Halifax, ended up in Lunenburg at the Bluenose Heritage Store. It was there for the very first time that he saw a model of a Bluenose in a bottle...and came away wondering how it was possible to do and how hard could it be. Well, he began researching the subject on the internet to find a wealth of resources in terms of books available, sites with images and techniques of fellow SIB modellers. He has found the SIBAA group on Yahoo at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/shipsinbottles a very beneficial resource. He finds the members very helpful with sharing building tips and ideas as well as being very encouraging, and he hopes to improve his skills with each build.
Lloyd has many hobbies and interests including painting, photography, rail-road & ship-modelling, gardening, fishing, wood working and quite recently building ship-in-bottles.
