Ships, Folk Art, and Whimsey in Bottles

This is a very well made and highly detailed model of a Barque sailing on a sea of green. The Barque is flying the flag of France and flies other flags from the masts. The ships hull is painted blue on the lower half and black on the top half. The very bottom of the hull is pained red. Paper is glued to the top half of the hull with cutouts to form gun ports along the length of the hull. The masts and yard arms are nicely proportioned and well made. The tips are painted white. The rigging is exceptional with black shrouds and white running rigging. The are multiple blocks in the rigging. The deck has railing around the raised deck in the bow of the ship and there are several deck cabins and hatches. Two upside down life boats are positioned on the large cabin toward the bow of the ship.
