Bottle 1064 - Americans Before Columbus
Date Added: 14 April 2013

"An estimated 25 million people were already living in America before the 1st Europeans arrived. Approximately 3,000 tribes of different cultures and languages. The arrival of whites was more of an invasion and conquering that settling of new uninhabited lands" is the inscription on a very elaborate stand for the bottle "American Before Columbus." The bottle has four decoratively made tepees, a long stream through the scene with a birch bark canoe and an native paddling it. There is another native on a horse drinking from the stream. There are cacti and birch trees with a deer, and various rock formations. The elaborate stand is made to resemble sandy soil with wooden pol tripods on each end to support the bottle. A frame supports a hide with the wording shown above in quotes. Next to it is a dream catcher with feathers suspended. "Americans Before Columbus is in raised letters at the base. Under the stand is the artist's signature "Larry W. Liddle."
