Bottle 539 - Souvenir from England
Date Added: 27 November 2007

This is a fairly simple but folksy ship in a bottle sailing on a choppy sea of green near land. The ship has a black hull with a mustard or gold colored band around the center. The ship has 4 masts with 7 sails represented. There are 5 deck cabins shown on the ship. Behind the land is a land mass that goes the length of the bottle. There are two large houses with black windows and door and a red roof. The land goes up high in the bottle behind the houses to represent mountains. The land is dark brown with green foliage pained throughout the land area. There is a small island with a toll white lighthouse with black windows. The land and foliage is like that on the main land area. On the inside back of the bottle is a handwritten label that says "Souvenir from England. The bottle is sealed with a cork. This ship is from the early 1940's and was sent from England by a soldier. The soldier was the brother of the grandmother of the original seller of this bottle. This was sent during World War 2, when he was stationed in England. It was made by a P.O.W. and sold to a tourist trade to make money.
