Bottle 505 - Schooner Suspended |
---|
Date Added: 14 July 2007
This is a model of a two mast schooner sailing on a "sea" that is made from painted blue slats of wood. The ship has a white hull with a very thin black line near the top. The ship has tow masts and 7 sails with seam line drawn on. The rigging is very nice with black standing rigging and shroud lines. A Yugoslavian flag flies from the rigging. The deck is a light brown color and is marked to show planking. There is a main cabin and two other hatches with ports painted on in white. The is a binnacle and a windlass on deck. The wood "sea" is suspended between the glass sides in the lower third of the bottle. This suspended effect for the ship makes if very interesting and a is a rarely used technique of ship in bottle builders. The bottle is round with a flat base. It has "Beograd Jugoslavija" pressed in the glass in half circle at the top of the bottle.
