Bottle - Maltese Cross in a Bottle |
---|
Date Added: 20 November 2016
This bottle contains a Maltese styled cross that sets atop a two tiered structure made of wood. The structure has multiple crosspieces creating a tower. There are pencil marks on some of the pieces that were apparently used to line up the pieces correctly during assembly. There is also a 20 in pencil on two of the pieces to aid in the placement. Another carved and tapered post supports a unique crosspiece on top that has a tassel suspended from each side. The tassels are made from red yarn covered by an ivory-like covering. The Maltese cross is ivory colored and is supported by a carved wood piece coming up the center. The tower structure has additional ivory-like pieces pressing the sides against the bottle. The bottle is sealed with a cork.
