Bottle 798 - Classic Yacht |
---|
Date Added: 10 February 2010
This model is based on a composite of photos & drawings adapted from the book by Nic Compton - "The Great Classic Yacht Revival". This is a wonderful book for sailors, model makers or anyone enthusiastic about classic wooden boats. In this scene, two young women in swimsuits are maneuvering by the last buoy before heading out of the harbor under a fresh breeze. An older gent is on the leeward rail enjoying the scenery and listening to his portable radio. The model is made from an aspen hull, with mahogany trim and basswood strips. It carries a CT registration and is similar to many boats found sailing around Long Island Sound.
