Bottle 1167 - Mallorca in a Bottle
Date Added: 03 January 2015

This is a model of a Hermaphrodite Brig with the name "Mallorca" on the bow. Palma de Mallorca is the major city and capital city of the autonomous community of the Balearic Islands in Spain and it is situated on the south coast of the island Majorca on the Bay of Palma. This Brig is "sailing" away from the opening of the bottle which is fairly rare. It has a black hull, copper colored bottom and white bulwarks. There are two masts with 14 sails. The flag of Spain flies atop the main mast and the flag of Mallorca flies atop the foremast. The rigging is very nice with both running and standing rigging with small blocks used in the rigging. The deck has two cabins and a large grate mid-hull. The Brig sails along the coast of Palma De Mallorca, Spain. There are several large buildings and trees along the length of the shoreline. The bottle is sealed with a cork. Under the sea is a label with builder information. It translate as follows: Line 1: HIjo (son). Line 2: P. Feliu (Pablo Feliu is the name of the artist) Campaña (countryside) Line 3: Plaza de Atarazana (Shipyard Square).
