Bottle 1298 - Piracy: Centuries of Terror On the High Seas

The decorative base suggests a tropical isle and buried treasure. The ship not of any specific historical pirate but patterned after an 1824 vessel with known as the "Flacon," a 14 gun opium transporter. Details include anchor and winch, life boat, wheel, aft lanterns, skull and crossbones flag, 11 sails on three masts, and bow spray. The ocean surface was created using stainless steel window screen to form texture and waves. It was then coated with E6000 and hand painted with a blue and white acrylic paint and finished by over spraying with Kyron clear gloss. All this on top of 3 layers of laminated Birchwood craft sticks. The underside is painted flat black and mounted on a folding cradle which is also painted flat black with personalized stickers and signature.
