Bottle 1104 - Kidney Bean Crucifixion

Date Added: November 14, 2013
This 'bulb' is of a crucified man, inside a flashlight bulb 5/8 tall with 3/16 inch opening. It is carved from 1/2 of a kidney bean since wood has grain that can not be carved this small. The cross was built inside the bulb and one arm of the man had to be removed and re glued to get into the bulb. It was just completed 11-6-13 and was carved using a sewing needle sharpened into a chisel point. I have another 'real' bottle whimsy that I will send to you separately. And yes I did use a magnifier to carve it and some of the pictures were taken through a jewelers loup to get the close ups.
