Goldfinch On A Windmill Winder in a Bottle
Date Added: 21 October 2016
This is a bird in a bottle shown perched on top of a wooden dowel. The bird appears to be a goldfinch with its yellow and black coloring. It has feathers for nesting material in its beak. The dowel is part of a structure that generally resembles a windmill with four arms and thread wound from arm to arm. The windmill sits on a base with four legs extending to the sides of the bottle. There is a handle on one side of the structure that turns the arms of the windmill. Under the base are markings that read "June 13, 1941" and some stars. This is the third bottle found made by an artist known only by the initials "JE", or perhaps "JB."
