Jonny Reinert
Jonny Heinrich Reinert was born on May 19, 1929 in Herne, Germany, a city in North Rhine-Westphalia, in the Ruhr area. He died on August 22, 2004.
Between 1967 and 1972, he worked for the Buddelschiff-Museum in Neuhorlingersiel where he had 98 of his ships in bottles on permanent display. Other examples of his work are in Cuxhaven Duhnen in L?thel Schiffsmuseum.
In addition to his ships in bottles, Reinert built whole maritime representations in bottles.
Reinert build over 800 models in his lifetime, ranging in size from a 0.7 l brandy bottle for a container to his world record of building in a 129 L bottle. He appeared many times in the Guinness Book of World Records, and he has been dubbed the “King of the Bottleships.”
